Power transmission line tower made of the multisided bent struts is the tapered tube of polyhedral cross-section fabricated by the steel sheet bending with the subsequent welding or fastening of its edges at rib or side. Rolled steel sheet is material for MSS making. Tower struts are fabricated with the height-varying cross-section, and tower consists of multiple separate sections (section length of about 12 m). Such towers feature very important property — versatility, i.e., adaptive capability at development of these various modifications. Advantages may include erection rate; such supports offer twofold and even fourfold advantage over the conventional towers. In terms of reliability, advantages are long service life, repairability and “vandal-proofness”. Towers require much less footprint as compared with wide-base lattice structures.
